HELP! Can anyone help me with the Study Guide question about the Capt who hands you an obscure equation? How do I solve S=L/T with no numbers? Can anyone show me the steps?
I'll be eternally grateful!

In any equality, as long as you do the same thing to both sides, the equality remains. For example, S=L/T is an example of an equality. If you add 100 to both sides, i.e. S+100 = L/T + 100, you still have an equality. What you need to figure out is what you need to multiply or divide on both sides to solve for one particular variable. In other words, how could you isolate L by itself. What must be multiplied to L/T to just get L? Remember to treat both sides of the equation the same. If it helps to use numbers then substitute numbers to the equation and see what happens.
