Dr. Chamberlin's Research Papers

Sean Chamberlin at the helm of Calypso sailing across the South Pacific

How did a guy with green hair come to assume the helm of the world-reknowned Research and Exploration Vessel Calypso? Read all about it in My Travels with Jacques Cousteau.

This section provides a selection of my research papers in the field of bio-optical oceanography. At the moment, it includes three key papers:

  1. Kiefer et al., 1986, which describes the theoretical basis for a predictable relationship between natural fluorescence and photosynthesis;
  2. Chamberlin et al., 1989, the first paper ever published that showed evidence for a predictable relationship between natural fluorescence and photosythesis in the ocean;
  3. Chamberlin and Marra, 1992, which discussed the effects of temperature and light intensity of the ratio of the quantum yields of natural fluorescence and photosynthesis.

Other papers and data will be included here in the near future.
